CCNF Press Conference on Rohingya Planning (JRP) : Local CSOs Demanded Transparency in Rohingya Relief Management and A Policy based on A Single Line Authority

Cox’s Bazar, February 20, 2020. Today Cox’s Bazar CSO NGO Forum (CCNF) demanded transparency and a single line authority in the Rohingya relief management. At a press conference held in Cox’s Bazar Press Club, the network of local NGOs and Civil Societies demanded that JRP should also include the operation cost of the Bangladesh government. Organizers mentioned that, so far on an average about 37000 taka has been received for every Rohingya family, per month, CCNF also demanded to clarification on how much of this money has been directly spent for the Rohingya, how much is spent on the management cost, and how much of the part is spent in partnership with local organizations. CCNF also demanded that, JRP should mention about repatriation.

Rezaul Karim Chowdhury, Co-chair of CCNF and the Executive Director of COAST Trust moderated the press conference while Amu Murshed Chowdhury Co-chair of CCNF and Executive Director of PHALS, Bimal Chandra De Sarkar, Co-chair of CCNF and Executive Director of Mukti Cox’s Bazar, Abul Kashem, Co-chair of NGO Platform and Executive Director of Help Cox’s Bazar were also present at the occasion.
